Mr. David Edis

Mr David Edis is a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon and is the founder and director of Tasman Spine. 

He is Tasmanian and Victorian trained and received his fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2004. After graduation, Mr Edis was appointed the trauma fellow at the Royal Melbourne Hospital for two years, treating a wide range of acute trauma.

Mr Edis specialises in adult reconstructive and degenerative spinal management and offers a broad range of contemporary surgical techniques to optimise the management of spinal conditions. He also performs hip and knee arthroplasty and trauma orthopaedics. 

Mr Edis continues to support the local public hospital service at LGH and enjoys training junior surgeons, RMOs and medical students. He remains committed to clinical research and currently supervises a number of research projects.

Dr. Michael Thomson

Dr Thomson is a certified Specialist in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is Australasian trained and a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. 

Patient care and satisfaction are important to Dr Thomson, who will take time to guide you through your journey; from the simplest of skin blemishes to the most complex of reconstructive problems.

Dr. Jerome Muir Wilson

Growing up in North West Tasmania Jerome has gained experience in rural and remote locations around Tasmania and Australia. 

Jerome has developed an interest in acute and semi urgent medical conditions. This has included managing fractures in general practice, emergency department and fracture clinics settings. 

Providing medical services to Tasmanian Institute of sport athletes in the north along with local football teams and other athletes he enjoys a team based approach to allow a prompt and safe return to sport following injuries.

Rodney (Plaster Tech)

Rodney has a wealth of experience as a plaster technician in the North. Countless patients have benefited from his caring attitude and skillset at the LGH fracture clinic over the last couple of decades.

Rodney is great at making children comfortable involving them in the choice of colours . He applies casts for maximal comfort and to allow the bones to heal in the correct position whilst being protected by the cast.
